Trying to clear out some of my bookmarked stuff, so I did:
Exhale: Core Fusion Pilates Plus (I meant this to be my warm-up, but then, woah, abs… I was going to do the 3-in-1 Total Body Fitness, but the sound was wrong.)
Fitness Bender Lady Lump Workout (What a name… I can’t balance for shit on the Twisting Warriors, though I got better. Split squats are hard (I think those are...

Copycatted Tatyana this time, but tried to mix it up a bit (unsuccessfully):
POP Plyo: Cray Cray Workout (it is damn near impossible to get up from a one-legged burpee… maybe because I’m barefoot?)
POP Kicks: Total Body Cardio Kickboxing Workout (never tried kickboxing before… maybe I should try a bit more to help with my coordination? This wasn’t bad!)
Hang Tight with...

How Fast Do You Get Out of Shape?
One study observed that conditioned athletes who had been training regularly for at least a year and then suddenly stopped lost half of the aerobic conditioning after 3 months.
In contrast, research shows that beginner exercisers who have worked out for about 2 months experience a complete loss of all aerobic conditioning after 2 months of not working out.

Couple of minor milestones with today’s workout. I did the Fitness Bender Hot Definition Workout that I mentioned yesterday, which I did as intermediate instead of beginner (whoo, am I actually starting to progress past “beginner?”) and I actually did the burpees, which I don’t think I have done in forever. And by “forever” I mean like years. Before I start my...

Finished the BodyRock “Booty Lift Workout” aka “Burn Fat And Tighten Your Butt” (second link has routine and reps, first has video). I kept fucking up turning on my timer (again, should get a GymBoss) so I’m rounding to 23 minutes altogether including the wall sits.
Breakdown:
Circuit 1 (30 reps)[approx - 12 minutes?]: a) 2 walking lunges I like walking lunges!...

Life as Liia: Running. →
lifeasliia:
Once upon a time running wasn’t competitive and that’s why I liked it. I liked that I didn’t ever worry about going fast or keeping up with people or anything. I just ran because I wanted to, as far as I could, and the distances got longer and longer as I trained more. It was always very personal for me. Long runs by myself, runs with my friends, exercise, when I was doing it...

Let’s see. I feel like I have a lot to say and I’m sure I’m going to forget something but oh well.
Just stole Joan’s workout (muahaha). I am tired.
POP Pilates: Long Lean Legs Workout Hard! Especially the Prisoner moves and the chair at the end. POP Pilates: Butt Blaster For some reason, this didn’t seem that tough to me. I liked all the bridgework though. Lots of pelvic thrusts (for...

Semi-taking the day off. Continued with the push up alarm (even threw in a set of dive bombers - augh!) and bathroom squats.
Mostly did one-legged squats or split squats (on the toilet seat this time instead of the tub), but also a set of lunges and I think one set regular (but deep) squats. Also did the MWOD and walked 3 1/3 miles to/from the grocery.
Anyway, got a bottle of wine to...

The scale came. Weigh in: 132lbs.
Could be worse.
It does make me wonder - have I lost 8lbs since Christmas or was my parents’ scale stupid? Either way, going to keep on keeping on…

Bah. I’m spinning.
I want to get a hold of all of these ideas and stop building castles in the sky, but I am having a hell of a time outlining everything. I feel like if I really make plans for all the stuff I’m thinking of, my life would be ridiculously regimented and I’m not sure if that’s healthy for me, regardless of my intentions.
So I am stuck, yet again, in...
I set an alarm to pop up on my computer hourly and...

I have been… what I want to term lazy, but I feel like that’s too passive. I’m looking for something along the lines of self-destructive. Defiant. Something like that. I could have worked out - I had time, I had energy, but for whatever reason, I felt like saying fuck you (to myself??) and planting my ass on the couch.
We walked around 8 miles on Saturday doing errands....

Fitness Myths
Some of my thoughts/edits on the fitness myths from here and here.
MYTH: Cardio is the best way to burn fat.
High-intensity exercise such as interval training burns more fat calories on an absolute basis than lower intensity activities, making it better for fat loss. It also increases EPOC (Excess Post-exercise Oxygen Consumption) the amount of calories you burn after you work out. — which...
campvsano asked: Do you know what happened to Zuzana? Why did she left BodyRock? I've been trying to find the reason but I haven't been able too. Thanks you!

Sweatay.
Did the ZWOD #1 Part 1 from 1-20-12 (wow, catchy title there, Z). Time was an even 24 minutes with lots of catch my breath breaks and “Do I really want do do all 3 circuits” slowdown thoughts.
I managed/decided to film myself this time to check my form. My dive bombers (at least in the beginning) were not as bad as I felt like they were (albeit not as sexy as...

Following my recent practice of taking workouts from Fitblrs, I used Joan’s “Rooney Routine” including the 5 minutes of jump roping (sans jump rope since mine broke) as a warm up. However, when I tried to do the Swiss Ball workout, I found that my Swiss ball is a) underinflated and b) 10-20cm to big for me so I decided to give up on that rather than break my neck/wrist/ankle. I...

Just completed the Bodyrock Turbo Fat Blaster Workout, again following Lindsey’s lead. My time was about 18:12. 30 Get Ups and High Knees is rough. Also the tricep dips, but I am currently in shock at how poor my upper body strength is.
I think it has been pretty rare that a workout video causes my pulse to “woosh” in my ears like Bodyrock. I’m guessing that is because...

The Primal Endeavour: The Philosophy of Adulthood →
primalendeavour:
“I know I should give up ____…”
“I just love ____ too much.”
“But ____ are just so good.”
“I’m just a carb-o! LOL!”
“You have to die from something, right?”
“I would miss it.”
“I know it’s bad for me, but I love it.”
I file lines like those in my brain as “most often-used lame excuses.” This doesn’t apply just to dietary issues, which I know I tend to harp on, they...

Not dead… just lazy. Apparently.
More like burning time.
Anyway, I took Lindsey’s lead and did the Bodyrock 550 Rep Fat Massacre. I managed to stop my timer, so through the magic of listening-to-music-while-working-out, I’m estimating my time at just over 33 minutes (considering Z’s original score was just under 33, that’s not bad in my book) with plenty of...

I have and have had an awful headache. Bah.
Just finished Happy Hour - Vinyasa Flow which was okay. I get paranoid I’m fangirling about Tara Stiles but I swear a 5 minute video of hers seems to give me more than an hour of something else. Plus, I apparently have a few yogi peeves and don’t really give a shit about “bringing together all sides of the universal being” or...

It’s so hard to not want instantaneous results. And it makes me feel like, damn, if I ate a shit ton of fast food and garbage and was overweight, it would be so much easier to see progress.
Fucking low hanging fruit. I want you.
I believe this is “cutting off the nose to spite the face.”

Okay. Might puke. Whew.
Did the Bodyrock Fierce Workout (wow, an unembarassing workout name - unless you’re a guy, maybe.). I managed to forget to set my time for the first set of jump squats but I was playing music this time so I know I was about 3 minutes in (which seems long but whatever). My timer said 13:43 when I stopped it so I’m putting it at 16:43, which isn’t bad at...
Lazy. And really hungry. Hm.
