Never before seen (for obvious reasons) “before” photos with poorly lit comparison! Wardrobe by Unflattering Bikini.
Wow, after lamenting not having any “before befores” I found a set from February 2009. Looks… about the same, maybe a little better, which isn’t surprising considering that matches up exactly with what my measurements say.
Now if I only had like bikini pics from way back in the day, but no way I do. I have a photo of me sitting in shorts from 2000, but I don’t think that is very useful.
I don’t think I have ever been super “in shape”. I had a butt shelf when I was doing a lot of rowing, riding and soccer and kind of a six pack (my abs are always pretty visible I feel like) but never really been “cut”.
We’ll see where all this goes…

A few items running through my head:
- I need to pull my ribcage out of my stomach and stop this slouchy thing. My waist is not as thick as I’m making it. Hello.
- I did get some exercise on Sunday and Monday, just didn’t report it here. Walked 3+ miles on Sunday (half of that laden since it was a grocery run) and did some mid-day yoga on Tuesday. I’m also starting to track my walks (on Joe’s Goals because it’s easy), which should not replace workouts, but at least puts things in perspective when I start feeling like I’ve been a blob, when in reality, I walked 10 miles.
- Apparently my video recording yesterday did not really work. I got my first set of divebombers, burpees and the leg lift squats, but then nada. Will try again… tonight (!?).
- Photos/videos are very educational. Also, my computer camera sucks ass.
- I think I should, in fact, get a scale. Just for the lols, I guess. I’m thinking about one of the schmancy ones with body fat readings, even though I know everyone says they’re horribly inaccurate. I’m thinking I could just try to be consistent with hydration and look at trends rather than treating it like it’s 100% accurate? Also, the people I see who weigh themselves daily and talk about how they gained 2lbs or whatever weird me out. Y’all need to scatter plot and find a trend line or some shit.
- Work is okay. I am trying to find the balance between giving zero fucks and all the fucks. This results in me doing both simultaneously. It’s a start???
- I need to pull my old duffle bag out of the closet and throw some heavy shit in it so I have a “sand bag”. I’m not sure what to put in it. I don’t have a car so hauling a 50lb bag of anything home from the store sounds not great. Maybe Amazon will deliver me some shit for free.
I think that’s it for now.
Why do I have reverse body dysmorphia? I think I look like the (photoshopped, thin) left one, but I really look like the right (bigger) one. Lame.
I can get there though, I think. I did this because I wanted to see if I could approximate what my waist line might look like if I lose weight. This would be nice!
